The bishop Saint Pol-Aurelien went to the dragon's lair and ordered it to go out. He then captured the animal using his stole, lead it to the coast and had the dragon jump into the sea. The location is now called "Toul ar sarpent", the "snake's hole" in britton. A simple cache on the Batz Island to let geocachers discover themselves the other treasures : the lighthouse (no need of GPS to find it), the exotical garden and the church once buried in the sand (around point N48 44.438 W4 00.493), the nice beaches, etc. Au VIème siècle l'ile de Batz était dévastée par un dragon. L'évèque d'alors, Saint Pol-Aurélien, alla jusqu'à la tanière du dragon, lui ordonna de sortir et l'attacha avec son étole. Il le conduisit ensuite au bord de la mer et lui imposa de se jeter à l'eau. L'endroit s'appelle désormais "Toul ar sarpent", le "trou du serpent" en breton La cache est très simple pour permettre la découverte des autres trésors de l'ile : le phare (pas besoin de GPS pour le trouver!), le jardin exotique et la chapelle sauvée des sables (autour de N48 44.438 W4 00.493), les plages du tour de l'ile, etc....

Wir hatten nach unserer Ankunft noch den ganzen Nachmittag zu Verfügung. Da es so ein sonniger Tag war fuhren wir zur Insel. Dabei liesen wir den Cache natürlich nicht liegen. Sehr schöne, ruhige Insel.

After our arrival we still had the whole afternoon to spend. Because it was such a sunny day we went to the Island with the boat. Of course we had also to get the cache. Very nice and peacful Island.

What a lovely location for the Cache, it was for us such a shame that the weather was cold, foggy and damp. We will return to the Island again.

Took TB and will place ASAP for onward travels and left a Purple toy.

Petite virée en vélo sur cette magnifique île, un peu couvert mais pas de pluie
superbe journée, on ne peut pas passer à côté de la cache.
Nous l'avons trouvé facilement mais le trou du serpent nous à quand même
déçu, on s'attendait à quelque chose de plus impressionnant.
